One person perished and three others sustained serious injuries when a vehicle they were travelling in collided with another on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.
The accident occurred at Maigoya in Molo Sub County and involved two saloon cars.
Mau-Summit area chief, Joseph Ng’eno said the Eldoret bound car was overtaking a truck when it collided with the saloon car from the opposite direction.
The accident happened just a few metres from where seven artistes lost their lives in December last year.
Ng’eno urged drivers to be cautious when driving along the stretch and especially at night to avert further deaths caused by accidents.
Those injured are receiving treatment at the Nakuru level 5 hospital.
Area police boss, Dan Kamanza said the deceased was yet to be identified and her body was moved to Molo sub county mortuary awaiting post mortem.
He added that investigations had commenced to ascertain the cause of the accident further urging drivers to observe traffic rules at all times to save lives.
