Woman, daughters held in connection withman’s murder

A woman and her three daughters are being held by police in in connection with the gruesome murder of her husband who had gone missing two weeks ago.

The 40 year- old -Leah Wambui along with her daughters, Joyce Njoki, 24, Mercy Njeri, 19, and Phyllis Njeri,18, are the main suspects in the murder of Cyrus Njau Kamuri.

Residents of Salama Village had reported the disappearance of Njau since January 25 2018. Some neighbours suspected foul play by his immediate family members triggering a massive search on February 1 for the missing person.

The body which had been covered with canvass to conceal the crime was recovered in a dried up well and taken to Mpeketoni Sub County Hospital for post-mortem.

The Mpeketoni Police boss, Martin Keli confirmed that the deceased was Cyrus Njau but the cause of death has not been ascertained.

He added that no charges have been preferred against the suspects as police were carrying out investigations and interrogations of the four family members.
