Former Kakamega Senator Dr. Bonny Khalwale says they will have a parallel swearing-in ceremony for the National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition Presidential candidate Raila Odinga if the IEBC goes ahead with the October 26 repeat election.
Dr. Khalwale, who led a peaceful anti-IEBC demonstration in Kakamega town , said unless the electoral body effects the changes demanded by NASA before holding the fresh presidential poll, they will inaugurate Mr. Odinga as the President.
The vocal politician stated that there would only be fair, free and credible elections if the IEBC officials led by the CEO Ezra Chiloba who bungled the August 8 electionare shown the door.
As a coalition, we are not boycotting the repeat election for fear of defeat but demanding a level playing field for the participants, he asserted.
He observed that the electorate in the former Western province is solidly behind Mr. Odinga and they are not ready to change their stand.
The Siaya Senator James Orengo last Friday announced in Nairobi that the NASA supporters will be staging daily demonstrations to pressurize the IEBC to meet their demands.
