The Huduma Centre Customer Service Week was marked in Wajir on Wednesday with majority of area residents expressing their satisfaction with the government services at the facility.
The Service week began with hospitality by customer service team before they travelled to neighbouring Eldas Sub County for a Huduma Mashinani drive which sensitized locals on the services offered at the centre.
The exercise culminated in an open plenary session at the centre where customers and other stakeholders got an opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification on various issues.
Huduma centre brings together related services offered by the government under one roof thereby enabling people to access services conveniently.
Among the services offered include social services, pension services, police abstract registration, National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) compliance certificate, police certificate of good conduct and Uwezo/affirmative action fund.
According to Centre Manager, Reuben Ogeda, there are 17 active services at the centre out of 43 advertised, with the remaining ones being offered on online platform.
The other 26 services are online, and we have so far served 122,000 customers since we started operating in 2015, said Ogeda.
Ogeda emphasized the need for the county government and other stakeholders to team up with Huduma Centre staff in enhancing publicity and sensitization through posters, fliers and other means to create more awareness among the county residents.
