Two men accused separately of defilement and robbery with violence

A 35 year old man appeared in a Kapenguria court charged with defiling a one and a-half-year old baby girl.

Samuel Makhoha appeared before Kapenguria Principal Magistrate Mr. Moses Machage.

Makhoha was accused of defiling the child on November 8 ,2015 at Kanyarkwat village in West Pokot County.

The court heard that neighbours had rushed to the scene after hearing the infant’s prolonged cry and caught the accused in the act before they apprehended and took him to Kapenguria police station.

Machage fixed mention of the case for this January 26, and hearing on February 3, February 2016 and ordered the accused to be remanded at the local GK prison.

In the same court, Musa Kemei, 19, was charged with robbery with violence.

Kimei was charged that on December 27, last year at Makutano Township within West Pokot County, he robbed Ms. Milka Chemtai of S0, 000 and a mobile phone valued at Sh5, 000.

Kemei who pleaded not guilty was released on a Ksh50, 000 bond failed to raise the bond thus prompting his remand.

The case will be mentioned on January 26, and hearing on February 3, 2016.
