Two people were yesterday charged with having Sh1 million ivory. Cecilia Muchiri and Elias Oluoch were charged with having the ivory on July 21 in Ngong town, Kajiado county.
The were also charged with dealing in wildlife trophies without a permit. Muchiri and Oluoch denied the charges before Kibera senior principal magistrate Elizabeth Osoro.
Muchiri told the court her infant is at home and she is unsure of the child’s welfare. Osoro released the two on Sh500,000 bond. She directed that Muchiri be given her child before she is taken to the prison to wait for her bond to be processed. The case will be heard on October 23.
