Plans are underway to have a homecoming ceremony for Water and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa in both Trans Nzoia and Bungoma counties at the weekend.
Wamalwa’s private secretary Isaac Wanjekeche yesterday said the minister will go round Kitale town on Saturday and later a prayer service will be held at his Milimani home.
Wanjekeche said on the same Saturday, the CS will attend the burial of James Matere, father of Bungoma women’s representative Reginalda Wanyonyi.
He said Wamalwa will then go to Bungoma Posta grounds for interdenominational prayers on Sunday.
“We are expecting an elaborate ceremony both in Kitale and Bungoma and we have started planning,” Wanjekeche said.
Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka will lead plans for the Bungoma celebrations.
New Ford Kenya Bungoma chairman Martin Nyongesa said plans are underway to ensure the ceremony is a success.
“We have already liaised with security agencies to ensure the grounds are secure. We will transport our party members from the subcounties to the ceremonies in Kitale and Bungoma,” he said.
