Twelve women MCAs from Embu county have threatened to strip publicly if Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru is sacked.

They said Waiguru is a victim of mistreatment by male leaders and has been subjected to nationwide embarrassment.

The MCAs said they will strip in Embu town and mobilise 10,000 women to march to Nairobi.

In Nairobi they will strip outside the President’s office at Harambee House.

Then they head to Parliament Buildings to “curse” male leaders for exposing women professionals to mob injustice, the group said.

The ward representatives are Peninah Mutua (Makima) and nominated MCAs Agatha Muthoni, Winrose Ireri, Catherine Mbura, Loise Mbuya, Nancy Murithi, Susan Wangai, Mercy Mbae, Tersia Rebiro, Rose Ndwiga and Rosemary Manunga and Shunem Ngira.

“Whenever women’s careers progress, unscrupulous male leaders plot to force them out through falsified scandals,” Ngira said. They said Waiguru is not culpable.
