Former Mombasa mayor Hamis Musa and his Sepetuko Band is set to thrill taarab fans during Eid-Ul-Fitr tonight at the Talentos Beach Resort Likoni.
He will be rocking the party alongside Tanzanian taarab singer Mzee Yussuf famously known as Mfalme.
Musa was once rumored that he had married Tanzanian taarab queen Khadija Kopa, who had made several trips to Mombasa.
Mzee Yussuf, famous for his hit song Mpenzi Chocolate, is the top leader of Jahazi Modern Taarab Band in Tanzania.
Talentos Marketing and Event manager Stephen Mure told Word Is that several top county leaders have confirmed their attendance to the eagerly awaited event.
“It’s a culture, where Swahili people have to showcase their traditions like heena designs, different Swahili clothings, food and dance among many others,” he said.
Among those expected to attend are Mombasa governor Hassan Joho and Mombasa women representative Mishi Mboko.
The newly built facility, located at the shores of Indian ocean, can hold up to 4,000 people.
It is soon expected to hold a mega concert by Ugandan music star Jose Chameleon and Yamoto band.
