A Sh9.1 million trauma centre has been opened at the Naivasha Referral Hospital.
The centre will treat accident victims, especially those in crashes on the Nairobi-Nakuru and Naivasha-Mai Mahiu roads.
For years, trauma patients have been sent to the Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital in Nakuru town or the Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi.
Hospital superintendent Joseph Mburu yesterday said the centre was funded by the county government.
He said the hospital gets many trauma, surgery and emergency cases, which will be treated at the centre.
