Mombasa assembly speaker Thaddeus Rajwayi has said the county will decide whether to register more yuk-tuks after a committee tables a report.
The Transport and Public Works Committee will prepare the report.
The committee was last month told to investigate whether Transport executive Twaffiq Balala’s directive to bar registration of more tuk-tuks was individually informed or it was a collective decision.
Rajwayi said the investigations will determine the future of tuk-tuk operations in Mombasa.
Tuk-tuk operators have condemned the directive and termed it exploitive.
The committee should table its findings by August 4, Rajwayi said.
