The First Vice – President of the Republic, Lt. Gen. Bakri Hassan Salih, Sunday evening returned home after heading Sudan delegation for Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) in Nairobi, Kenya.
In a statement to SUNA, the Foreign Minister, Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour, said that Sudan has effectively participated in the summit, indicating that the First Vice – President has presented Sudan’s address before the summit, which underscored importance of the partnership between Japan and the African countries.
He said that the First Vice – President expressed in his address Sudan thanks to Japan for its support to Sudan in the water, health, agriculture and other fields.
Prof. Ghandour said that the First Vice – President has held meetings on the sidelines of the summit with the Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni, the South African President, Jacob Zuma, the President of Chad, Idris Deby, the President of Ghana, Dr. John Dramani Mahama, the Prime Minister of Tanzania, Kassim Majaliwa, the Advisor of the Egyptian President, Dr. Ibrahim Mahlab, and the Vice – President of South Sudan, James Wani.
