Two students of Isiolo Boys’High School who were charged with preparation to commit arson have been granted bail by a local court.
The two Abubakar Kadiro Kabada and Abdirizak Hassan were granted personal bond of shs 40,000 with one surety of similar amount or a shs 20,000 cash bail each as they await for next mention date.
The two were presented before the Isiolo Chief Magistrate Samuel Mungai and charged with preparation to commit a felony contrary to section 308(1) of the penal code.
The court heard that on June 8, 2018 at around 8.00 pm at Isiolo Boys’ High School they were jointly found in possession of an inflammable liquid namely paraffin in circumstances that indicated that they were armed with the intent to commit a felony namely arson.
According to the prosecution, the two had the intent of setting Nzoia dormitory at Isiolo Boys’ Secondary school on fire.
They both pleaded not guilty
The next mention date will be June 25,2018 while hearing date will be August 22,2018.
