An 11 year old standard one boy was on Monday arrested by police in Trans Nzoia County after allegedly being found in possession of 300 grammes of bhang.
Confirming the incident, Kitale OCPD, Jackson Mwenga disclosed that the boy was nabbed at St. Emmanuel primary school in Fort Land village after the class teacher asked the pupils to produce their geometrical sets but he delayed.
Mwenga said on checking his desk drawer the teacher discovered the rolls of bhang hidden there.
He said the school head alerted the police who rushed there and immediately arrested the boy.
“The police found some more nine Kilogrammes of bhang on searching his mother’s house but could not arrest her since she had already fled”, Mwenga explained.
He added that the boy was expected to be arraigned in court on Tuesday and that the police had also mounted a manhunt for the mother who was still on the run.
