Soin Sigowet Sub County wins primary schools athletics championships

The Soin Sigowet Sub County in Kericho County are the overall winners in Kericho inter sub Counties primary schools athletics championships for the third time.

They garnered 190 points to beat the 2nd runners up, the Bureti sub- County, which got 163 points in the championships held at Litein sports ground in the last two days.

Belgut sub County managed 130 points to be in third position whereas Kipkellion and Kericho Sub Counties came fourth and fifth positions with 117 and 104 points respectively.

Londiani sub County came last with 89 points in the championships that were highly competitive.

The team representing the Kericho County will participate in the regional athletics championships to be held at Kajiado County as from 3rd April to 7th April this year.

In 3000 meters race for girls, Immaculate Anyango emerged from Kibugat primary school in Bureti, winning the race, and will represent Kericho County in the Kajiado regional athletics championships.

In 10,000 meters boys, Vincent Langat from Liloch primary school from Kipkellion Sub County won the race.

In 1500 meters for boys, Josphat Cheruiyot from Kimulgul primary in Kericho Sub County emerged the winner and will represent the County in the Kajiado championships.
