Six administrators in Embu county have been suspended for failing to fight illicit liquor in the ongoing crackdown.
County commissioner Amos Gathecha on Tuesday said they include three chiefs and three assistant chiefs.
Speaking to the Star on the phone, he said the officials have been recommended for sacking.
Gathecha said the administrators were reportedly colluding with manufacturers of illicit liquors.
He said two chiefs are from Mbeere South subcounty, one from Embu East subcounty, while the assistant chiefs are from Mbeere South and Embu West subcounties.
Gathecha said some of the chiefs are involved in brewing while others are drunk while on duty.
He said there is no option other than relieving officers obstructing the war on illicit liquor of their duties.
