School Boy Killed by Suspected Bandits in Baragoi Town

Tension is high in Baragoi following the killing of 13yrs old boy of Baragoi primary school Monday evening by unknown heavily armed bandits who sprayed bullets killing him on spot.

According to the report in Baragoi three people have now lost their lives in Samburu north. First killing took place in Masekita village, second in Bendera village and the third one which occurred Monday in Baragoi town.

Confirming the killings to KNA by phone Samburu north sub-county commissioner, Henry Katana said that the boy was shot in the chest during the 6.30pm incident and died on the spot and the killers fled to an unknown place.

Katana said that security personnel were on the ground pursuing the killers but so far nobody has been arrested over the incident.

He promised that the government will ensure that the culprits are brought to book, while calling on the residents to forward any information to security personnel that would lead to the arrest of the killers.

Katana said that the body was removed from the scene by security personnel and taken to Maralal referral level five hospital mortuary waiting postmortem.

Area leaders led by the area Member of County Assembly {MCA} Romano Leakono condemned the incident and accused the security forces in the area for laxity over the incidents which occurred some few kilometers from the security camps.

Leakono called on the Internal Security CS Joseph Nkaissery to investigate the killings of Baragoi and bring the killers to book.
