Taita Taveta MCAs have told Governor John Mruttu to sack the county secretary and other senior county staff or risk impeachment.
The ward representatives made the remarks during the adoption of a report on the status of county projects, pending bills and the wage bill.
MCAs advised Mruttu to immediately sack county secretary Patrick Meso, Water executive Stephen Masamo, Public Works chief officer Philemon Kachila, Health chief officer Catherine Mwamuzi, director of budget Benedict Mwabili and supplies chain director Walter Machogu.
They accused the staff of misappropriation of funds.
Wundanyi MCA Raymond Mwangola said: “Following the anomalies noted during the interrogation of executives, we want an immediate stop to hiring of casual labourers.”
He said the payroll department processes Sh24.8 million in salaries for ghost and duplicated casual workers.
