Ruling of terror suspect’s case set for January 21

The ruling on whether or not a middle-aged terror suspect charged with being in possession of fire arms has a case to answer will be made on January 21, 2016 by a Kwale Court.

This is after the conclusion Friday of the preliminary hearing of the case involving Hamisi Lewa Nguta who is suspected to be a member of Al-Shabaab terror group.

Nguta who has pleaded not guilty before Kwale Resident Magistrate Mr. Paul Mutai is charged that on July 21, 2014 at Tsimba location in Kwale County, jointly with others not before court he was unlawfully found in possession of a fire arm namely an AK47 rifle with serial number 07973 without a fire arm certificate.

The accused faces another count of being in possession of one hand grenade, 108 rounds of 7.62 special caliber ammunition, an AK47 magazine, one magazine pouch, and research items.
