Laikipia County government is focused on ensuring that all tax payers adhere to rules and regulations.
The Executive Committee Member (CECM) in charge of Finance, Boniface MurungiNdai, said by July this year, Sh.35 million was collected as compared to Sh.22 million same period last year.
He added that last month, the County was able to raise Sh.40 million compared to Sh.34 million collected same month in 2017.
We have seen so much improvement in revenue collection since engaging Regional Business Connection (RBC) Company last month to do so, the CECM said.
The executive, who was speaking to members of the press at the Governor’s office yard on Wednesday, noted that taxes collected in the county went towards improvement of infrastructure and other development project in the area.
Laikipia County is targeting to collect Sh.800 million this financial year to finance various development projects.
The CECM called on all tax payers to fulfill their obligation without delay to enable the County forge ahead in development.
