Ranguma Dismisses Graft Claims

Governor Jack Ranguma has dismissed claims by his rivals that he has mismanaged county resources claiming they were using propaganda tricks to divide his supporters.

He told those making the allegations to come out and substantiate their claims instead of soiling his name to gain political mileage ahead of the coming poll .

I want to challenge my opponents who are propaganda gurus to come out and show proof that I have mismanaged county resources, said Ranguma.

Speaking during the monthly County government inter-denominational service at the County headquarters, Ranguma blamed Prof. Anyang Nyang’o who is his main opponent for spreading propaganda against him rather than selling his agenda to the people.

He urged his supporters to ignore such politicians saying they have ill motives and were looking for an opportunity to loot from the county coffers.

The governor, who is defending his seat as an independent candidate further blamed the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) for lack of internal democracy.

He said his decision to go solo stemmed from the sham nomination exercise that was carried out by the party favoring his rival Prof. Anyang Nyong’o.

Accompanied by his running mate for the August 8 polls Mwalimu Ephraim Kananga, Ranguma asked Kisumu residents to vote for individuals and not parties.

Parties don’t serve people, it is an individual who will serve you and I would wish to ask you to vote for an individual and not a party, he said.
