Raila Reiterates Calls For Church To Reject “Dirty” Money

Former prime minister Raila Odinga has reiterated his call for the church to reject dirty money being flaunted by politicians in the name of harambee.

He said it was unfortunate that most church leaders had been caught in the web of corrupt individuals who want to sanitize ill gotten wealth using the church.

Odinga, who is also the Africa Union envoy for infrastructure and development was speaking Saturday at the Maliera Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Gem sub county during a memorial service for his late father in law, Nehemiah Oyoo.

He challenged the church to stand firm against money laundering, and hailed the Anglican Church leadership doing so.

Odinga said he will not relent in his war against corruption saying,We know of people who spend more than a hundred million shillings per month in harambees yet their known income is just one million monthly.

He called on Kenyans and other churches to join hands in fighting corruption in all its forms for development to be achieved in the country.
