CAIRO– Sudanese President OmerAl-Bashir has stressed that Sudan and Egypt have the political will to co-operate and address problems which may arise between the two countries, saying “we will work for constructive co-operation for the interest of people of the two countries”.
President Al-Bashir said this during joint media conference with his Egyptian counterpart, Preisdent Abdul-Fattah Al-Sisi, at the Al-Ethadiya Palace in Cairo Monday following their summit meeting to discuss relations between the two countries, a responsibility of the leaderships of the two countries.
President Al-Bashir said there was no option save co-operation and working together to achieve the interest of the two people, indicating to the countries’ historic ties as well as their common destiny.
He said the bilateral and direct meetings held by leaderships of the two countries were positive and increased understanding which, in turn, leads to further co-operation between the two countries in all fields.
“We are passing a historic and turning stage and we are watching problems the region is experiencing that affect us all and thanks to Allah that are distant from these problems and that requires co-ordination and consultation between the two countries through co-operation mechanisms being established in all domains.” he added.
He stated that the talks he had with President Al-Sisi tackled all concerns of the two countries and projects in the fields of power, Nile transportation and railways to ease movements of people and goods, which are the genuine desire of people of the two countries .
President Al-Bashir said interest and power of the two sides rested in co-operation of the two countries and by this understanding, he elaborated the meeting at level of summit would remain an opportunity for review of work of mechanisms of co-operation in the various fields.
President Al-Bashir underscored that the co-operation between the two countries would serve interest of the two people , saying “we one nation and will cooperate for interest of the two countries and people”.
