President Barack Obama has been dazzling Kenyans since he landed at the JKIA on Friday. He is the first American leader to visit Kenya while still in office, making it a historic occasion.
His host, President Uhuru Kenyatta, hosted him to a special state banquet at State House Nairobi on Saturday evening. Entertainment was provided by popular boy band Sauti Sol, and they were joined in the dance floor by President Obama who was taught how to groove to the famous ‘lipala dance’.
In attendance were the Kenyan family of the US President including Mama Sarah Obama, his older brother Malik Obama and sister Dr Auma Obama. The US was represented by among others the National Security Adviser Susan Rice and US Representative Charlie Rangel.
The Kenyan leadership was led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his wife Margaret as well as former president Mwai Kibaki. Also attending the fete was former Prime Minister Raila Odinga who was accompanied by his wife Ida.
