AN international Population, Health and Environment conference will be held in Kisumu in September.
It will be held at the Tom Mboya Labour College from September 8 to 10.
The forum under the theme ‘Integrated population, health and environment; Lessons for the sustainable development agenda’ is expected to bring 500 delegates from across the world.
Doreen Othero said policymakers, ministers, national and EALA legislators, civil society PHE programmers and academicians are expected to attend.
Othero is Lake Victoria Basin Commission’s Population Health and Environment regional programme coordinator.
“This conference is a platform of sharing PHE lessons. PHE has not been adopted by governments nationally and at county levels,” she said.
“Governments will be encouraged to embrace PHE approach and review policies on population, health and environment.”
Othero spoke yesterday at Protea Hotel in Entebbe, Uganda, on the sidelines of an LVBC forum.
