Police have arrested five suspects and recovered five motorbikes belonging to a private security firm, uniforms and electronics of unknown value at a residential house in Isiolo town.
Confirming the arrest and recovery, Isiolo Sub County Divisional Criminal Investigation Officer (DCIO), Michael Kimilu said the police acted on a tip off from members of the public and arrested two suspects who later led them to arrest three others.
Kimilu said that police also recovered helmets and assorted motorbike spare parts from the suspects ‘ house in Isiolo town.
He said the thugs were operating in Isiolo, Meru, Tharaka Nithi and Embu. The stolen bikes from Isiolo are reportedly sold in Meru, Tharaka and Embu.
The DCIO further said that uniforms belonging to G4S were recovered and are believed to have been used by the suspects at night.
Kimilu said that the police have launched a man hunt for other criminals who are still at large and the five would be taken to court once the investigations are complete.
The DCIO appealed to motor bike operators to cooperate with police and report any incident so that swift action could be taken against suspects.
