Police arrest Congolese nationals in Bondo

Police in Bondo Thursday nabbed 16 Congolese nationals living and working in the town without legal documents.

Bondo OCPD Harriet Kinya who confirmed the arrest said the aliens who were nabbed have already been ferried to Kisumu immigration office for possible deportation.

Kinya disclosed that the Congolese nationals were arrested at their various business premises and residences in Bondo.

She stated that the aliens did not have documents and work permits that allow them to live or run businesses in the country.

Kinya revealed that the raids targeting foreign nationals that have infiltrated the town will go on to ensure that only those with legal documents are permitted to stay.

The raid on the foreign nationals in the area comes a few days before impending visit of Inspector General of police Mr. Joseph Boinet to the region.

The police swoop is part of the ongoing national exercise to arrest foreigners living and working illegally in the country that commended last week.
