Parents should teach their children about sex and responsibilities at home, a university lecturer has said.
St Paul’s University lecturer Joseph Wandera says young people are engaging in sex because they are not counselled adequately.
“When our young people start suffering, that is when they realise they made a mistake. Reason being, they were not properly counseled,” he said.
Wandera was delivering a public lecture at the university’s main campus in Limuru on Wednesday.
He said young people fall into temptations of sex, alcoholism and drug abuse.
He said parents have left sex education to schools.
