Parents of a 15 year old girl from Thakwa village of Githunguri Sub-county in Kiambu are appealing for assistance to trace their daughter who has been missing since May 6th 2018.
Ann Wangari, a standard 8 pupil of Ikinu Primary School went missing after she attended a Gukena FM roadshow at Ndumberi Stadium on the material day.
According to the mother of the girl, Teresia Wanjiru,Wangariwas last seen at 9.00a.m along Mithiiya Road on the 7th May. At the time, those who spotted her say she was wearing a white jumper, brown trouser and was in sandals.
After she failed to return home, the mother filed a report of a missing person at the Githunguri Police Station.
The distraught mother recalled that two months before she went missing, her behavior had become intolerable and she had kept threatening that she would disappear without trace.
She told KNA at her home on Saturday that a week after they made a report, the police arrested a young man who was believed to have been her boyfriend but then he did not diverge useful information to help them in locating her whereabouts.
The police are not helpful in the whole process. Their derogatory comments are discouraging. The say my daughter was big enough and wherever she might be, she could be okay, the mother lamented.
Fredrick Njenga, the father of the girl appealed to anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact them through Mobile number 0703104533 or 0729916502 or the nearest Police Station.
He indicated that those who may not be comfortable talking to the police could assist with information through Crime Stopper Anonymous as the pain of losing her is unbearable to the family.
We would also appeal directly to Wangari to kindly get in touch with us and to let us know if she is okay since we are very worried. Wangari if you see this message, please come home please, as we love you dearly and want you home, the father pleaded with the daughter.
Wangari can speak English, Kiswahili and Kikuyulanguage fluently. She is slim, brown and about four feet tall.
