Over 84,000 candidates are set for this year’s KCPE exams in coast region

Preparations for this year’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations in coast region have been completed.

The Coast Regional Director of Education (CRE), Abdikadir Kike said all the necessary arrangements, including the examination materials are in place.

Speaking with KNA at his office in Mombasa on Monday, Kike confirmed that 84,088 candidates have been registered for this year’s exams in coast region.

The candidates are set to sit their exams between Tuesday and Thursday this week.

The first paper will be Mathematics on Tuesday morning followed by English Language and English Composition papers in the afternoon.

Kiswahili Lugha and Kiswahili Insha papers are set for Wednesday while papers for Social Studies and Religious Studies will take place on Thursday.

A spot check by KNA at various schools found that candidates were being taken through the exams procedures during the rehearsal.

The Mombasa County Commissioner (CC), Evans Achoki said adequate security arrangements at all the centres have been put in place to ensure the exams go on smoothly.
