HOTELIERS in Naivasha are fully booked for the weekend by residents of Nairobi, who have fled traffic inconveniences in the city following President Barack Obama’s arrival yesterday.
Obama is in Nairobi for the Sixth Global Entrepreneurship Summit, which runs until tomorrow.
Crayfish Hotel CEO Peter Mehta said their weekend bookings have risen sharply compared to other months.
“Incidentally the visit comes at a time when tourism is performing poorly and we expect things to change,” he said.
Mehta said there are fewer foreign visitors due to the terror attacks and travel alerts by some European countries.
