Murang’a Governor, Mwangi Wa Iria has said he will use Jubilee Party to seek re-election come 2017.
Mwangi lauded the move by the President and his Deputy William Ruto to form one party, saying the decision was ideal and a boost to national unity.
Speaking at Murang’a town at the weekend, the governor said he was fully supporting the new party and thus he will be in the forefront to familiarize the Jubilee Party at the grassroots.
“I fully support the Jubilee Party as the idea behind formation of one party is aimed to bring all Kenyans together and curb political divisions and animosity usually experienced during electioneering,” said Mwangi.
Mwangi observed that Jubilee Party would this year gain more popularity and thus be in position to help re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy.
He castigated those who are opposing the new party, adding that Jubilee party was an idea whose time had come right time.
Meanwhile, the governor said he was committed to delivering all he had promised to the people of Murang’a.
Wa Iria added that in 2016 his government will ensure that all the planned development projects are fully implemented.
He asked the youth to apply for identity cards and acquire voters’ cards in readiness to participate in the next elections.
Mwangi added that the move would help boost the tyranny of numbers noting that new voters would help raise the chances of Jubilee Party in winning the 2017 general elections.
“Registration for voters in this region is low and is my call to young people to get the cards thus we be determined to re-elect Jubilee administration come 2017”, he added.
