Murang’a Boy Yet To Report To National School Due To Lack Of Funds

A boy from Murang’a County who was admitted to Nakuru Boys High School is yet to report to school due to lack of fees.

Hassan Ali, 14, and a resident of Mjini village sat for his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in 2018 at Vidhu Ramji Primary School in Murang’a Town where he scored 410 marks.

School requirements and fee for the first term amount to sh. 60,000 which is way beyond what his mother Rehema Wamaitha, a casual laborer, can raise.

The boy is now appealing to people of goodwill to help him realize his dream of joining the national school and later becoming an engineer.

He said that his mother had only managed to buy him a box out of all the school requirements and she did not have any other money. Hassan has a sister in a boarding secondary school and two other siblings in college.

The deadline for reporting for form one is Friday January 18, 2019 and the boy may just miss the opportunity to join the school if no help comes around.

Donations can be sent through the mother’s Mpesa no. 0729899407 or school fees paid to Nakuru Boys High School Account No. 1123235864 Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Nakuru Branch, or Equity Bank Account No. 0130270328785.
