MP wants student’s death investigated

Shinyalu MP Mr. Justus Kizito, has called for thorough investigations into the death of a form two student who was found dead at Mukumu Girls High School’s dormitory.

The MP said that it was traumatizing for parents of the girl and colleagues of the female student who was reported to have been found dead at the school’s dormitory.

The student, Nathline Samantha, was found dead by her house mates last Friday shortly after they heard her bed squeak.

According to the Sinyalu police boss, Robert Makau, the student is said to have been epileptic and had been taking some medicine.

Makau said that the information about the circumstances surrounding the death was availed by the students to the authority.

The school’s Principal, Fridah Ndolo, said that the matter was reported to her and that doctors called in confirmed she had died before the body was taken to Kakamega Referral Hospital’s Mortuary.

Makau concurred with the local MP that all options should be explored.

The MP who was speaking in the constituency condoled parents of the student, noting that their investments in the girl had been destroyed suddenly. Their hope and that of all who knew her is thwarted, said Kizito.
