MP claims senate minority leader behind division in NASA

Senate Minority Leader Moses Wetang’ula will be kicked out of the position for allegedly trying to undermine opposition leader Raila Odinga, a member of parliament has said.

Alego / Usonga Member of Parliament Samuel Atandi alleged that Wetang’ula has been the source of squabbles in the National Super Alliance (NASA) as he has been secretly mobilising parliamentarians against Odinga.

These are some of the reasons why Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) senators and national assembly representatives have vowed to kick him out as the Senate Minority Leader, he said.

The MP was speaking at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Ramba in Siaya town.

He said that ODM had the capacity to oust Wetang’ula as he was enjoying the seat courtesy of the party’s good will.

Atandi hailed the new found partnership between NASA leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta, saying that the country would realise fast development.

The MP told other NASA principals to swallow their pride and join the initiative.

Catholic priest Father Fred Ogambe hailed the ongoing talks between Odinga and President Kenyatta saying they must ensure that the talks include how the families of those who lost their lives in the aftermath of the 2017 elections would get justice.

They should not just focus on peace alone. They must ensure that their negotiations also include how the families of those who lost their lives will get justice, said Fr. Ogambe.
