It was cheers and ululation at Momokoro academy in Kuria West, Migori County after it produced the best candidate in 2015’s Kenya Certificate of Primary Education.
Brian Edson topped the school and Migori County with a total marks of 440.
Another top performer, Malion Nyabuto from Seta academy obtained 339 marks.
Some of the top public primary schools in Migori County in the just released KCPE 2015 result were Migori, Kadika and Sony primary schools among others.
The top pupils at Migori primary and Kadika primary schools had 419 and 400 respectively while the top pupil at Sony primary school obtained 399.
Speaking to KNA, Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT). Migori branch Mr. Caleb Opondi expressed satisfaction with the performance of public primary schools.
Opondi said the performance was impressive despite teachers’ strike adding that pupils from the public schools would have performed better if they had guidance from their teachers.
However ,he commended the teachers for preparing the pupils for the exams within a short time after the strike.
