Matuga ODM chairman calls for resignation of county Speaker

The Matuga Orange Democratic Movement Chairman Hassan Chitembe has called upon Kwale County assembly speaker to resign from his post with immediate effect following his declaration that he will vie for the governorship in the forth coming general elections.

Addressing Journalists in Kwale town today, Mr. Chitembe said that Mr.Juma Ruwa’s declaration was informed by pressure from afew MCAs who have developed differences with governor Salim Mvurya in the county.

He added that only two leaders in the county can vie for the governor’s seat and there is no other person.

“We only know Chirau Mwakwere and Salim Mvurya; I don’t understand why some people want to try what they cannot manage,” he noted.

He urged Kwale County leaders to work together and stop fighting each other.

Responding Speaker Ruwa said his declaration to vie for the seat was his constitutional right and the people of Kwale County will decide who will be their governor in 2017.
