The Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK) has elected Pheodor Mundia Njoroge, the Strategic Business Manager to the Managing Director at Unilever East Africa, the Chairman of its Board of Directors.
Other members of the Board of Directors that will be in office till 2021 are Carolyne Kendi who is Head of Brand,
Marketing and Communication at Safaricom, Joseph Karamoja (Vice President and Head of Marketing, PR and Communications at SBM Bank) and Charles Kariuki who is the Managing Director at AAR Healthcare.
Accepting the new role, at the society’s Annual General Meeting, Njoroge said he will focus on executing MSK’s
strategy outlined by the Board and ensure the society is effectively positioned for continued success.
My vision is to strengthen the voice of the marketers within the country on issues that matter to us and the brands we drive. With such collaboration we can champion to professionalize the society through a charter that will strengthen it in Kenya, Njoroge said.
In a press release on Tuesday, Njoroge also called on all marketing forums to collaborate amongst themselves and the Marketing Society of Kenya to enable them come up with solutions that will propel them to greater heights with the marketing fraternity globally.
Handing over the mantle, the society’s outgoing Chairperson, Maggie Ireri who is also a Director at TIFA Research said, the newly elected chairperson has a clear passion for the marketing profession, as she noted, he strongly believes that marketing plays a crucial role in the growth of Kenyan business.
She expressed confidence that the MSK will continue to play a leadership role, noting that the new board should focus on improving the profile of the society, besides growing the society’s membership and revenue projections in the coming years.
The Marketing Society of Kenya is the national umbrella body for all marketers in Kenya whose key mandate is to empower and regulate the marketing industry by creating policy that governs the Marketing Industry, education and training of professionals, corporate organizations and entrepreneurs.
