Man kills brother over stolen chicken

Police at Serem Station in Hamisi Sub County are holding a man suspected to have caused the death of his brother following a brawl over stolen chickens.

Speaking to KNA Monday, Shivembe Sub location assistant Chief, Matilda Lukose confirmed that police officers arrested Maxwell Khanyisi on Saturday in connection with the death of Aggrey Natse.

According to the chief, the suspect assaulted Natse to death, who is a blood brother, for having accused him, (accused) of stealing chickens belonging to their neighbour.

According to reports filed by witnesses, including family members, the suspect attacked the brother in his house using a crude object that caused his death on Saturday morning, said the assistant chief.

The deceased, 60, passed on while being rushed to Jumuia Hospital in Kaimosi.

The body was removed to Vihiga County Referral Hospital.

According to Hamisi Sub County Officer Commanding Police Station (OCPD), Lucy Kananu, the accused, 40, will appear before Hamisi Resident Magistrate court today.
