A man was on Monday arraigned in a Makueni Court for defiling a 16 year old girl in Kiteei village, Kathonzweni Sub County.
Appearing before acting Senior Resident Magistrate, David Ndungi the accused Boniface Mwanzia denied defiling the minor contrary to Section 8(1)(4) of the Sexual Offences Act No.3 of 2006 .
The prosecution told the court that the accused committed the offence on diverse dates between January 1 and 13.
He also faced an alternative charge of committing an indecent act with a minor contrary to Section 11(1) of the Sexual Offences Act No.3 of 2006.
The accused was remanded at the Makueni GK prison after he failed to raise a Shs. 300,000 bond or a surety of the same amount.
The hearing has been slated for January 21.
Meanwhile, in the same court, a man was charged with being in possession of 93 rolls of bhang contrary to Section 3(1) as read with Section 3(1) (2) of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substance Control Act of No.4 of 1994.
According to the prosecution the accused Antony Kyalo was found in possession of the bhang valued at Shs. 1,860 at Wote bus terminus on January 17.
He denied the charges and was remanded in custody after failing to raise a bond of Shs. 100,000 or a surety of the same amount. Hearing was fixed for January 21.
