Man arrested for defiling two minors in Narok

Police in Narok are holding a 32-year-old man alleged to have defiled two nine-year-old girls in Majengo estate in Narok town.

Confirming the incident on Monday, the Narok North OCPD, Joseph Kisombe said the accused lured the girls into his house with sweets before defiling them in turns.

The offense was allegedly committed on May 16 this year but it was only on Sunday when police tracked the accused who had gone into hiding and arrested him.

The Medical examinations conducted on the minors indicated that they were indeed defiled.

The accused will be arraigned in court as soon as investigations are complete.

Narok County has high cases of sexual offences against children meted out mainly through outdated cultural practices such early marriages, leading to high cases of early pregnancies.

About 40 per cent of our girls in the region drop out of school each year due to the two vices.

Two weeks ago, five girls from Olokuseroi Primary School in Nkarretta ward, Narok North Sub County were forced out of school due to pregnancies.
