This year’s South Eastern Kenya Agricultural Society of Kenya, Machakos, show will be officially opened on Friday, June 30, 2017.
The four-day event which opens its doors to the public on Wednesday to Saturday at the Machakos showground has attracted 102 exhibitors. However, according to the event’s publicist, Lawrence Matolo, many more are expected to come in before the opening day.
Matolo said all arrangements for the success of the event had been finalized, pointing out that already the pre-show stands judgment concluded today.
While promising show goers a bigger and better event this year, Mr. Matolo called on Kenyans to attend the fare in large numbers to learn various farming techniques and get entertained.
We have lined up both innovative and educational exhibitions as well as numerous entertainment bouquets to cater for each show-goer’s taste he told KNA.
The Gate charges for this year are Sh. 200 per adult and Sh. 150 per child while the gates will open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
Matolo revealed that in pursuit of the show theme; Promoting Innovation and Technology in Agriculture and Trade, the event will showcase significant inventions, developments and unveil new technologies in agriculture and trade.
Children will not be left out as there will be fun fares to keep them busy and also family-oriented activities to ensure that everyone feels at home’ he added.
The Branch Chairman, John Nzala, also welcomed show goers saying, The show this year is a strong indication of our drive to improve agricultural practices within the region. We have exceptionally prepared for it with early exhibitor recruitment and ready demonstration plots to ensure a successful event.
