A little known Sambu Central Primary School in Webuye East Sub County has come into the public limelight after producing Collins Omutere who scored 432 marks, becoming best KCPE performer in Bungoma County.
Omutere was closely followed by Dylan Ebelwa from Chwele Academy in Kabuchai Sub-County with 430 marks.
Clinton Watta from Marell academy took position three with 429 marks, followed by Johnes Mumbwani from Chwele Academy in position four with 426 marks
Abigael Wamalwa with 424 and Lennox Wanyela with 423 marks from Marrel Academy came fifth and sixth respectively, followed by Shirleen Nyongesa and Dalmus Otieno from the same school, tying with 421 marks in seventh position.
Damaris Sobolo, Murcus Sakwa, Stanley Opicho from Marell Academy tied with Immaculate Baraka of Bungoma D.E.B and Evans Wanyama of St.Elizabeth Academy with 419 marks.
Omung’ala Valentine from Moi D.E.B primary also tied with Bravin Malaba from Chwele Academy attaining 418 marks.
Bungoma D.E.B Primary head teacher Mr. Tobias Khisa called on parents to invest more in education.
At the same time, Lwandanyi Primary School made history as it produced the first ever top pupil in Bungoma West Sub- County.
Christone Soita recorded 400 marks, topping the Sub County. The school has never produced a candidate with 400 marks and above for the last five years.
Meanwhile, Omung’ala Valentine from Moi D.E.B Primary School who scored 418 marks wants to be a pilot.
Hilda Nekesa Wekesa from the same school who also scored 403 marks learned through hardship and was most of the time supported by teachers.
According to Moi D.E.B Primary school head teacher KelfinWanyama the family is still in dire need of assistance and he called on well-wishers to step-in and support the girl advance her education.
Wanyama also lauded the determination of Michael Maganga Waka who did his exams after a prostrate operation and still managed to score 277 marks.
He was bright and determined and would have performed better had he been healthy like the other pupils, added the head teacher.
