Leaders in Bomet County have condoled the family and friends of the late former cabinet minister, Nicholas Kipyator Biwott.
Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party leader and Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto was among those who reacted following the dead of the deceased.
Mr. Biwott was one of the respected leaders in the country whose contribution on the socio-economic and political front was outstanding and will be highly missed, Mr. Ruto said.
He said Biwott served the country diligently in various capacities including being a personal assistant to the retired former President Daniel Moi, a Member of Parliament and cabinet minister.
Mr. Ruto pointed out that even after he left the cabinet and went to found the National Visions Party (NVP), Mr. Biwott continued with his contribution to development.
The Governor assured the bereaved family that Bomet County residents were with them during this trying moments of grief and sorrow.
Mr. Ruto who was in a campaign trail for the Bomet gubernatorial seat in Bomet East constituency led the county residents in observing a one minute silence in remembrance of the departed soul.
Other leaders who condoled the family included senator Prof. Wilfred Lesan , the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and Sotik MP Dr. Joyce Laboso, five County Mca’s and the chairman of the lake Victoria South and Water Services Mr John Koech.
Bomet County Commissioner Mr. Erastus Ekidor also consoled the family of the late minister.
