Former Cabinet minister Mukhisa Kituyi has lost his son Makari Kituyi aged 30.
Makari worked for Radio Africa Group where as head of Kiss TV until June 2014.
His friends said he passed on in his house in Nairobi after what is believed to be a diabetic attack.
The family and friends said Makari, who married recently, spent the evening with friends in the city before retiring to his home at Roselyn Gardens.
His wife was attending a school party in Kitisuru where she teaches when Makari died.
The body was taken to Lee Funeral Home, where his friends and his dad’s converged.
Makari worked in Norway at the NRK before returning to set up a company, Black Viking Productions.
He was the eldest son of Kituyi, the secretary general of the senior United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.
