KFS should consider making ferries locally

Kenya Ferry Services has been in existence long. It has been charging vehicles and hand carts a toll charge.

If funds were not being misappropriated, it would by now be constructing its own vessels that suit our type of channel, ramps and vehicles.

It should by now be drawing its own designs to make its own ferries. There is no need to import simple short distance vessels from abroad.

A ferry is a simple vessel which only needs engines to move forward and backwards. We know that tendering abroad is an avenue of finding a way to ‘eat.’

White elephant projects such as the watch towers which were later brought down are the trouble with KFS.
