NAIROBI, President Uhuru Kenyatta Monday launch a public information portal as he moves to make his administration more transparent and accountable to the general public.

The public information portal which will among others communicate tiniest details of investments made under the Jubilee administration will offer members of the public the opportunity to frequently access, request and query programs, projects and election pledges made by the Jubilee government in 2013.

Four years after the jubilee administration was sworn into office, state house spokesperson Manoah Esipisu says Kenya has witnessed unprecedented development ranging from infrastructure development to improved access to electricity under President Uhuru Kenyatta’s rule.

And with the country set to hold a general election in just over three months, the Jubilee administration is set to unveil an information access platform for Kenyans to get frequent updates on progress of projects and programs initiated by the administration over the last four years.

The public information portal will highlight and make public various national government programs and projects.

Making the pronouncements, Esipisu said the portal will provide transparency through an electronic central depository for the public to access frequent and request for information as well as documentation.

This information which will be updated regularly will be backdated and documented to provide information for the last four years. The jubilee administration buoyant over its performance over the last four years submitting that Kenya is today better than it was four years ago when President Kenyatta took office.

Citing the successful implementation of the devolution concept, issuance of title deeds, reforms in the education sector, recruitment of more police officers, the establishment of Huduma centers that have revolutionized public service, electricity connections, expanding of social protection security net to include the elderly, besides creating opportunities for women, youth and persons with special needs, Esipisu said that the jubilee administration has accomplished what others have failed to deliver in decades.

The standard gauge railway whose first phase is nearing completion as well as projects under the national youth service are some of the key highlights of president Kenyatta’s administration. Kenyatta was sworn into office on April 9, 2013.
