Kenya: Poll Shows Uhuru Still Most Popular Leader At 45pc

Nairobi – President Uhuru Kenyatta remains the most popular leader in the country according to a new poll released by Infotrack, at 45 percent.

President Kenyatta is followed by Opposition leader Raila Odinga at 28 percent, while his CORD co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka is third at a distant 2.5 percent.

The poll also indicates that the Jubilee Coalition is the most popular at 40.4 percent while CORD has 31 percent.

The jubilee coalition is more popular in North Eastern, Central, Rift Valley and Nairobi while CORD is popular at the Coast, Western and Nyanza region.

Eastern is shared equally between the two coalitions.

Meanwhile, the poll shows that most Kenyans do not trust key public institutions in the country among them the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Judiciary and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

According to the poll, 70 percent of Kenyans don’t trust the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission while 50 percent don’t trust the IEBC.

The media remains the most trusted institution in the country.

The poll was conducted between March 6 and 10 with about 1,800 respondents across the country being interviewed
