Years ago, Nigerian dancehall artiste Patoranking was peddling rat poison in the streets to make ends meet.
Now the ‘My Woman’ hit maker has launched his studio album God Over Everything. Patoranking was recently in Nairobi where he launched the album at a listening party on Wednesday evening. He has also had similar events in Kampala and Dar es Salaam where he talked about his past hustle — selling rat poison.
“Many people don’t know much about Patoranking; there were some things I had to do. I used to sell rat poison in the streets of Lagos, but that was way back. Right now everything has changed…” he told Tanzanian entertainment news site Bongo5.
Indeed, things have changed! Patoranking and Sauti Sol are expected to work together on a song. “We are in talks with Sauti Sol and we shall provide further information on the planned collaboration in the near future,” he said at the Nairobi party.
