NAIROBI– Four people died after a trailer rammed on six houses in Subuiga area Buuri Constituency along the Nanyuki-Isiolol highway while they were asleep.
Three among those who perished were members of the same family while the fourth was the driver of the ill-fated trailer.
The driver of the trailer lost control of the vehicle and rammed into over six houses killing four of its occupants at Subuiga village in Buuri constituency along the Nanyuki-Isiolol highway.
Area OCPD David Mwange while confirming the incident attributed the accident to exhaustion of the trailer’s driver.
Area Member of Parliament Rindikiri Mugambi on his part noted that the accident could have been avoided if the driver had an assistant.
Meanwhile three people died while at least 24 families were left homeless during a night fire inferno that occurred in separate incidences in Meru County.
Among those who died were a 40-year-old woman identified as Kananu and her grandchild who perished while asleep at Kambakia area in Kaaga Sub-Location within Meru town.
Tyson Kiambi, a family member linked the inferno to a stove.
They are now calling for humanitarian assistance.
